Possible Solutions When the Slider Doesn’t Work

If you use a theme by us (a free or premium version), you probably use the built-in Homepage Slider (most of our themes comes with such). The slider is designed to be managed easily: Admin Panel -> Left Menu -> Appearance -> Customize -> ‘Slider’ Section where you can set Slide images, titles, contents, links, etc.

It doesn’t require any other customization: whole Slider JavaScript libraries and CSS codes are included within the theme files, so you don’t need to do anything else to run it.

In case, your Slider doesn’t work, here are the things you could check:

Check for Invalid Content

  1. Navigate to Admin Panel -> Left Menu -> Appearance -> Customize -> ‘Slider’ Section
  2. Check the content entered into ‘Slide Text’ fields i.e. all opened HTML tags (<p>, <div>, <b>) must be followed by corresponding closing tags (<p>, <div>, <b>)
  3. If there is a field with invalid HTML code, please update it, save changes and check if that resolves the issue.

Disable Plugins

There could be a plugin which breaks the JavaScript code. It means that when the a JavaScript error occurs, it will prevent executing of the JavaScript code which rotates the Slides. The solution is simple:

  1. Navigate to Admin Panel -> Left Menu -> Plugins -> Installed Plugins
  2. Disable plugins one by one
  3. After disable a plugin:
    1. Open the Homepage
    2. Refresh the page (by clicking Ctrl + F5)
    3. Check if that resolves the issue
    4. In this way you will be able to identify the problematic plugin
  4. Once the problematic plugin is identified, you could disable it permanently to be able to use the Slider.
