Not Working Microphone on Ubuntu

For some reason the microphone from my headphones stopped working on Ubuntu. Here is how I resolved the issue on Ubuntu:

1.Open terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T)

2. Install pavucontrol by running the following command:

sudo apt-get install pavucontrol

3. run pavucontrol

4. Open ‘Input Devices’ Tab, select microphone and increase the volume
