How to Add a Shortcode in Gutenberg

If you use latest WordPress Editor (called Gutenberg), you may find it challenging to insert a short code. So, here you can find all of the necessary steps:

Let’s use the following shortcode (from our Immersive Slider Plugin) as an example:

[immersive-slider slider="1"]

1. Login to your Admin Panel, then open a Page or Post for edit.

2. Click on ‘Add Block’ icon and start typing ‘shortcode’ and select the shortcode block icon:

insert a shortcode

3. Enter the shortcode code into the field (including the brackets):

enter shortcode code

4. And actually that’s it. Then you can preview the page to see if your shortcode is properly displayed.
